Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

It has been a cold dry day and so I managed to finish painting our conservatory, tonight after all our incoming guests arrived we went a walk up to Moss Eccles, the temperature has dropped considerably but cold and sunny is better than warm rain.
