The blog will be in hibernation for a few weeks so my apologies to regular readers.
Bookings can be made to stay at Buckle Yeat in a number ways, by telephone on 01539436446 or you can e-mail or book on-line using the links on the right of this page.
Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

The New Year Gang all went home this morning, they said they enjoyed themselves once again, and have booked for next year.
We had a giant jenga game organised to entertain everyone after a few drinks on New Years Eve, it seemed to go down well, especially when I touched it, as the picture sent in by David shows.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OLD AND NEW BLOG WATCHERS.
We had a good night last night and into the early hours.
This morning we awoke to another heavy frost and so this afternoon when we went a walk the camera was busy, I took lots and lots pictures so I have put them on a slideshow on the right of this page, just click on them to enlarge.
Many many e-mails from all over the world wishing us well for the New Year so thanks for that, it,s good to know someone is watching.
