Happy Easter to everyone, Matthew and Sarah are home for the weekend and yesterday we had a walk through Grizdale Forest and down to Brantwood on the shores of Coniston Water where we had a spot of lunch at the excellent Jumping Jennys. The Steam Yacht Gondola was just setting off back across the lake.

Everthing is looking good around the village in this fantastic summer like weather.

Tarn Hill looks resplendent after the grass has been mown. Its patron Mr McGregor has been busy of late and his running total is nearing £6000 raised for the playground, sadly he is starting to fall apart but his creator is busy making a Mk 4 version.

I have a number of these Jill Aldersley watercolours of Buckle Yeat and if anyone would like one just send a stamped addressed  A4 envelope and I would gladly post one out, these ones are not signed by the artist as Jill sadly passed away a couple of years ago

Sheep and lambs the other night on the shores of Esthwaite Water,
the sun keeps shining in Sawrey lets hope it lasts over the Easter weekend

An unusual place to lay an egg, Helen spotted it today on the dining room window sill in a narrow gap between a planter and the window. I think it is a pheasant egg but would be open to suggestions

A few pictures of Moss Eccles this afternoon, dry and breezy but colder after the hot & sunny weekend.
We had a visit from some former guests from many years ago, it was good to see them and catch up on how their family's have grown up.
