Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. You could call it an eventful day, we had to dial 999 this morning for a guest, the ambulance took the young mum into Barrow hospital, her husband followed on and me and Helen have been entertaining their 2 year old all day, the hospital has just rung and she will be discharged later so hopefully all is well. All in days work!!!
It has been raining most of the day.
