We had a walk up to High Dam near Finsthwaite this morning on the holly berry trail and at last success we found one tree that had just one good size branch laden with berries, at last!!!
It was a sign of the times, the last time we walked up there was a Boxing Day and it was so busy with post Christmas walkers and today there was nobody I am guessing they were all Christmas shopping.

Lots of water flowing between High and Low Dam

Fantastic news for Hawkshead Surgery this week, an article in the Westmorland Gazette today has revealed the under threat surgery came out as the best in the whole country after over 8000 surgeries  took part in a nationwide survey. The survey was carried out NHS England and had 93% of patients rating it "very good" this is surely another reason this surgery must not be allowed to close.

What a day, we made the most of it because apparently we are in for some rough weather over the next few days. The blog has been out action recently due to a number of reasons ie computer issues, bad weather and most of all my laziness!!! but hey I am going to try to redouble my efforts.
We had a walk looking for holly with berries this afternoon but all our tried and trusted sites had been picked clean by the birds, a sign of a severe winter? we shall find out in good time.
We are closed at the moment but re-open on the 27th December We have room available that night and a couple on the Sunday, full the 30th 31st and then we are staying open the 2/3/4th January this year and have availability for then

1st November and it has been a lovely day but the temperatures are dropping swiftly as the sun goes down.
We survived trick or treat last night with only this threatening trio paying us a visit, so more chocs left for us.
