Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Its Thursday, D & V are here, so its flower time, this fantastic display turned up on cue from our most regular and long standing guests/friends.
We had a quick trip to Ulverston for some shopping, I briefly caught up with Dorothy formerly of the Tower Bank Arms. The picture below is Hoad monument shrouded in scaffolding for renovation work.
