Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Its Saturday again so here is the marrow update, the beast is progressing nicely, but I have had a look at the competition next door and boy oh boy Anthony at the TBA has whopper!!!
Wow, it is growing beautifully. They are so prolific we used to snip off the flowers and have them fried or in salads. I love the texture of your squash...so healthy looking!
