Rain overnight but clearing as I write.
Apparently it's Peter Rabbits birthday today, not that I would know but some unknown person has emailed me with this vital piece of news. How old is the old rabbit?
Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Easy Riders
Another brilliant sunny day in Sawrey
Quite a busy tea time after a slow start, we lit the BBQ again , two days in a row is good, salmon tonight, very very tasty.
Had a walk up the village later on and bumped into Heather having a practice on her new set of wheels.

In a couple of weeks of time the Sawrey Marrow Show is on and with a bit of luck we will be there, and will have some interesting pictures.

D & V
Derek & Vicky arrived this morning just in time for breakfast, they are regular visitors to Buckle Yeat and have been coming to stay with us for almost 30 years,4 or 5 weeks a year,if we gave clocks for long service theirs would be ready for a refit by now.
This is a picture for Jan & Jeff, I'm pretty sure Derek will have sent them a gloating text by now.

Three points for England in the World cup qualifier (just)
A really nice day again, so when we finished had a walk to the fish farm for some prawns to put in to a savoury rice dish that Helen makes, then back to light the BBQ, gammon, delicious.

Who you looking at?

No luck on the lotto tonight so that means work tomorrow, watching Poland v Austria at moment great game, just finished 3-2 to the Poles, a draw would have been better for England

Day Off?
No teas today so a bit of a break in routine, I cut the grass at Buckle Yeat and Matthew did the weeding and cut the grass at home.
Then we had a full afternoon off and managed to enjoy this typical lakes weather.
There has been a sighting of the Ospreys on Estwhaite water tonight, I never seem to see them.

Tonka toy digger on the way down from Moss Eccles

A couple of shady characters at Moss Eccles
Me Helen and Matthew are off to the Tower Bank Arms later for a quiet drink, better go and get washed.

Who pays the ferryman
Kendal again for the shopping, it was really busy, we thought it was because there was a lot of kids buying all their requirements for back to school, college etc etc.
This is one of the busiest shops in Kendal, the famous KENDAL CUT PRICE est 1985

Quite a small shop today so not to late home, and on the way back over the ferry I went up into the cabin, this is Stuart who was at the controls while Peter was collecting the fares

A view from from the bridge looking towards Harrowslack on the Sawrey shore of Windermere

Back home just in time to show the last guests in and unload all the shopping, and then managed an hour sat in the warm September sun.
