Summer has arrived, it has been a wonderful day.
Just one room change today, out go a couple of recent blog converts from USA Tony & Tamara, they will be in Manchester tonight before flying out to Boston in the morning, we have a lot of returnees but is a bit special when they come all the way across the pond to stay at Buckle Yeat for a second time.
Incoming today was Tony & Lorna our blind friends from the south they are with us three days then move on to our neighbour Elizabeth, she brought them from the station and I shall take them back next week. We are just going out to the Tower bank for a meal with them.

Sawrey Stores is going from strength to strength and is worth a visit to check out all the new goodies, it is shop local week, so take a look on the Sawrey stores link at the left of this page, not sure about the dodgy looking bloke in the middle.

This Buckle Yeat garden in full bloom this morning.

Spot the new addition to the board.

The Fire brigade made another trip to the village, this time it was a false alarm at Hill Top, they had to ask all the visitors to leave and stopped selling tickets for a short while.

Up to Moss Eccles for a short walk before tea,

A fire engine went through the village this afternoon lights and sirens blaring and when they came back through they stopped at a fire hydrant at the top of the swilling shop and refilled the water tank meaning they had used the hoses somewhere, I am sure we will find out the story in the fullness of time.

This is thrush who is busy building a nest in the clematis at the front of Buckle Yeat.

Fisherman on Esthwaite Water

Flag Iris at the edge of the lake, there seems to be a lot more this year.

The sign says it all.

Apparently it the firemen were attending a vehicle fire on the shores of Windermere no one was injured.

The 1st of June and the first day of summer,it was a gardening day today so whilst Helen sorted out all the comings and goings at Buckle Yeat I managed to get some grass cut.

A sunny day and warm day, we are having Denis and Margarets house painted and the weather has been kind so far.

We had 4 rooms in and out today and the 4 rooms to come in are all regular customers who all arrived mid afternoon, which was great and allowed me and Helen to take a walk round the dub through the woods past the church and back to Near Sawrey, we took these pictures on the way.
