Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Summer! what summer? it has not stopped raining all day.We have the fire lit and the heating on in mid July, crazy.
Not a chance of a walk tonight so these pictures are from last night at Moss Eccles.
A full house tonight and no late arrivals.
Matthew sent a text earlier, they have hit heavy traffic on their way down to Hereford for the weekend.
A guest who shall remain nameless asked me if you had to get off the island to visit Haverthwaite Railway museum!!
