I keep meaning to mention that the other day I took the money raised in Mr McGregors flowerpot round to Rachel, the treasurer of the Tarn Hill playground, when she returned the box she told me that there had been just over £500 in it, that makes a total of just over £2500 in a couple of seasons, many thanks to all those people who have had their pictures taken and popped a little loose change in his flowerpot.
Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.
