A trip to Kendal today for some Easter shopping, before we went we had a quick look for the Sawrey Easter egg to no avail.
Morecambe Bay Shrimps for tea tonight with some crusty bread and wild rocket, delicious!!!
We can recommend the aforementioned famous Morecambe Bay Shrimps and there is a link on the right.
Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Denis and I had a run down to a nursery near Pilling in Lancashire about an hours trip, to pick up some plants we had ordered,we buy plug geraniums and begonias and grow them on in the greenhouse for the wall tops and hanging baskets.
Helen and I had a walk down to the lake after we got back and just got home before
this storm arrived.
Tomorrow at 10am sees the map go live indicating the position of the easter eggs in the Great Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt. Link on the right.

Sunday morning mist burning off to leave a sunny afternoon.
I went to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool to pick up Denis and Margaret on their return from Spain, it went well till I listened to Man Utd beat Liverpool and then the car misbehaved big time and I ended up doing the final leg in a recovery vehicle whilst our Stuart and Rachel came and picked up their grand parents.
Dentist today, where did the last 6 months go?
The dentist is in Ambleside and I took these two pics on my phone.

All of a sudden the garden is coming to life, I spent a few hours weeding and tidying up at Buckle Yeat.
We had an interesting conversation with a guest this morning who was convinced she had seen a couple of ghosts in her room one being a black cat and the other a lady dressed in clothes from Beatrix Potter days, she was very relaxed about it and was not in any way frightened, watch this space, who knows it might turn into a tourist attraction.

Sorry to keep repeating myself but yet another sunny day.
Helen created three stunning flower arrangements for me to take to Ulverston and put on Mums, Grans and Helens Aunt Janets graves for Mothers Day tomorrow.
This is the now famous statue of one of Ulverstons favorite sons Stan Laurel with his comedy partner Oliver Hardy.
Another famous Ulverston icon, Hoad Monument on top of Hoad Hill, the monument has been undergoing a massive refurbishment and is near to completion.

Yet more sunshine and so even more pictures, we had to take the car into Hawkshead for a couple of new tyres, we left the car at the garage and walked up behind the church up vicarage lane and into Grizdale Forest. We walked on the forest roads to High Cross and on to Tarn Hows, a 5 minute rest with a flask of coffee and back down to Hawkshead via Rose Castle.

Another wonderful sunny day and after a visit to the garden center to buy some plants we headed on a long walk up Stock Ghyll Force, the views were stunning, we extended the walk up to High Sweden Bridge before walking back down into Ambleside.
Apologies for lots and lots of pictures.
Two pictures of the Stock Gyhll waterfalls
Looking up towards the top of the "struggle" and Kirkstone Pass
