We had a walk through the woods tonight and the bluebells are just starting to flower, about 3 weeks later than usual, in the next week they will be magnificent
Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

We had our first volcano related cancellation this week!!! if it was not so serious it would be hilarious, "we have to cancel because of a volcano in Iceland!"
Another chapter for the book.
Meanwhile the skies are clear and blue in Sawrey.
A new arrival at Hill Top farm bearing the H mark, is it H for Hill Top or maybe Heelis?
Tomorrow at Braithwaite Hall 2pm is a trash and treasure sale in aid of hall funds, all welcolme.

A quick trip to garden center this afternoon, Lucy's in Grange aka Grange Garden Center.
It was trip back in time for me, when I was a kid we used to go to Grange on the train most summer Sundays and spend the day in the now derelict seawater outdoor swimming pool, it was always ffffreezing!!!
In those days it was Grange-over-Sands but these days the sand seems a long way away.
Not to sure what this wind sock is all about.

Another cracking sunny day and a couple of funny incidents, first Denis had 3 text messages in a short period of time each more pleading than the last and all asking "mum lend me £200 for my flight home" the sender then rang and very soon realised he had the wrong number all the time, oops!
Then an almighty domestic row on the Hill Top car park with lady screaming and wailing, she was Chinese so I am unable to tell you the subject of the altercation but boy it sounded bad.
