At last a break in the weather its gone cooler but a drier and fresher, busy with guests coming and going and with such short days it is nigh on impossible to get out for a walk.

All the New Year people arrive this afternoon.

Merry Christmas from us all at Buckle Yeat on a mild misty morning, heavy rain overnight but at the moment it has eased up and with a bit of luck we may get a walk up to Moss Eccles .

A gloomy day and we have got some Christmas lights strung up outside Buckle Yeat we are trying a different design this year with hanging baskets strung with lights, they look good at the moment and as it gets dark they should be better.

We had a walk up to Moss Eccles this afternoon and thought the tarn looked a bit like it had a milky film over it, the puzzle was solved, when we realised it was in fact frozen with a thin covering of water on the ice

Brrr we have had it all this week snow ,rain and this morning bitterly cold with a cruel wind, welcome to England now that winter is here!!!

We had a walk to the Hawkshead Christmas Fair yesterday and it was really well attended all the car parks where full at 2pm and lots of people milling around.

Lots of stalls and things for the kids to do.

It is bitter again today and it looks like we will be getting some rain or snow later which with the cold temperatures  is going to make the roads a bit tricky.
