Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

We had a nice walk yesterday and the weather looks good today so as soon as we get finished its boots on and up the tops for another good long hike.
We had a full house last night and a few rooms in tonight so things are looking up, the weather really helps, bookings are looking strong for later on in the year.

Its an awful lot cooler this weekend but dry and calm, perfect walking weather and we did manage to get out for a stroll. We went down passed the dub and onto the Hawkshead road, turning left at the bottom of Can Brow and then through by the side of Cunsey Beck, onto the road at Cunsey Bridge, we then came back along the road to Far Sawrey before taking the footpath into Near Sawrey. A nice hour and a half walk.

The decorating goes on and on!!! be glad when it's all done.
The weather for the last few days has been incredible and for the next few days looks the same so the next job is the garden, lots of good bookings coming in which is good and a couple more excellant reviews on Tripadvisor, also good.
