A few pictures we took this afternoon on a long walk over Claife and down onto the shores of Windermere.







This Claife Station built in 1790 and used as a viewing station for the Victorians to take in the magnificent vistas of the lake, it is being restored by the National Trust, they have cleared out lots of trees that obscured the view over the years.

There is a big archery competion on this weekend in the woods near Cunsey, we have a couple of guests taking part, apparently over 400 competitors, best steer clear of the area. Unfortunately the weathermen have got it spot on with rain all day, better tomorrow.
I do not take pictures in the rain so these few are from my commute to work yesterday.




I have just handed my entries in for the photographic competition which is being arranged to raise funds for both Hawkshead and Sawrey churches.

An awful lot cooler than the last few days.
Sill dust dry everywhere and we have never seen the streams and rivers as dry even in summer.





The result of the the cold cold winter is that the spring blossom's are at their best.

More sunshine as the good weather continues.
The Chelsea Flower started today and we are keeping tabs on the TV as a new rose is being launched and it is called The Beatrix Potter Rose, sponsered by the Beatrix Potter Society to commerate the 30th anniversary of the society, a regular guest of ours Vicky, has been heavily involved in the process, she has an invite to the press day today along with many famous faces, non more so than the Queen.
