We were asked to find a site for a bench, a couple of regular visitors from Atlanta USA Bob and Bonnie Helget said they would like to donate a bench somewhere in the lakes so weary walkers could sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings,
With the kind permission of the Bryerswood Estate the land on the footpath near Wilfin Bridge is to be the site of the bench, the area was overgrown with nettles and brambles so it has been cleared these are a couple of before and after shots and the bench will appear soon.

The weather has broken but still lots of warm sunny spells with the odd heavy shower, we did have a good walk yesterday through the woods to Cunsey.

I had a trip over the lake to Kendal yesterday and although I say so myself its easy to take good pictures with this scenery and this fantastic weather.
We have a anther busy week ahead with just a couple of rooms available on Sunday evening.
I was sat in the ferry queue on my way back yesterday and a lady came to the car to ask if this was the ferry to Sawrey, she said she had a room booked in a place over there called Buckle Yeat!! what were the chances? small world.

The hot weather continues but a break in the sunshine is expected this week, this first picture is of the Teal on Windermere on the very day the Queen sailed on her.

Mr McGregor has been very busy these last weeks in fact he has passed on £200 each to the Braithwaite Hall the Tarn Hill Playground and St Peters Church and has another £200 ready for the Sawrey Institute
Thats the good news the bad and sad news is yesterday someone helped themselves to his takings or to be blunt they mugged him!!!!
