Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Its Hawkshead Christmas Fair this weekend and we have lots of guests here especially for it, I hope the weather is as good as mid-week when we had a walk near Elterwater, it was stunning

It was a fantastic weekend and although the temperature has dropped considerably the sun is still shining, we are busy decorating Buckle Yeat for the Christmas holidays.

Its the end of the half term holidays and it is the last day of Hill Top so the village is very quiet and will be even quieter tomorrow, we are still open and have people in all week with some rooms still available.

Incredible!! it is the last day of October and it is so warm this hanging basket is still looking good, I will try and tidy up some of the plants today but the wall tops and the containers are still going strong.
