We got an e-mail today from Kathy from Indiana, she stayed with us a year ago and is a regular blog reader and her blog link is on the right of this page. It was good to hear from her.

Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall was in the county today, she was in Barrow in Furness naming a new submarine, Astute.









We had a good walk tonight through the woods and back into Sawrey

It's another scorcher in Near Sawrey,it take an age to water the garden, lets hope the weather holds for the festivities on Tarn Hill playground tomorrow.
We are taking Mr McGregor down with his jar of money and asking people to pay to guess how much is in the jar, we have purchased a large Benjamin Bunny soft toy from the National Trust to offer as a prize.
Tony and Lorna have left today but will still be in the village for the rest of the week.
Two rooms to check in today a family of 3 from Burnley and a couple of Japanese people who live and work in Edinburgh, as I type the Japanese couple have arrived on a couple of Mountain Bikes, they got the train to Windermere and then hired the bikes from there.
On the blogger site there is a automatic spell check, it does not recognise Winderemere and one of it,s suggestions to try is Wonderbra!!!

Hill Top was open today which is not usual for Thursday, we did not open the tea rooms though, we have lots of jobs to catch up on.
Later on we went a walk up to Moss Eccles.
