Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Had a quiet evening, short walk and met some regular guests and had a chat with them outside Buckle Yeat. The Tower Bank Arms look quiet tonight. The holiday cottage people all seem to be having BBQs.
