Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. A wet day, we had an almost full house for breakfast, 12 in all and three rooms checking out.
Tonight we are up to the maximum with the single room let, a family of Americans have arrived, Mum, Dad, and twin daughters who are over in the UK on a University exchange, they are really nice people.
A text this morning from Matthew to say he and Sarah had survived the 10 hour bus trip to Cusco.
Hard luck on Carlisle United who lost today in the final of the Football League trophy to Swansea who are in the division above it was a hard fought match and Carlisle did Cumbria proud.
