Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

A misty start but the sun soon burnt off any clouds, everyone left this morning including my new mate Gareth aged 9 from Norfolk, he was here for 4 days with his grandparents, really friendly people. Gareth and his grandad are massive Norwich United fans and will be at the game tomorrow, I will be keeping a look out for Norwich results with them in mind from now on.
I cut the grass at Buckle Yeat,at home and at Denis & Margarets this morning, then this afternoon the rain arrived and it has gone cool.
The last new guests arrived at 7.30 which is good for a bank holiday Friday, I think we might pop to the Tower later.
