Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

A really misty morning but the sun shone later, it turned out a stunning September day.
Another day with no changes so after we finished the rooms and I cut the grass and Helen cleaned some windows we went home to do a quick tidy up and set off on a walk, we went up behind Sawrey Hotel on to the tops, under Scale Ivy then along the ridge before climbing back up above Wyes Een and back into Near Sawrey.
We took lots of photos, the weather was fantastic and there was a great shot around every corner. More pictures later on in the week.
