Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

It was a misty morning but then this afternoon the sun came out and it was a fantastic sunny afternoon. After we finished the rooms and set up for tomorrow morning we had a quick walk down to Esthwaite Water and took so many pictures it was hard to decide which to leave out.
