I offer no apologies for these shots, I have taken similar ones many times before, these were yesterday morning as I made my way to work, commuting is such a drag!

We are a little bit quieter in the guesthouse and so will try to get to Ambleside later for a few things.

We have just had a scary visit from the Fire Officer regarding the new laws on fire safety, it was worse than being called into see the headmaster at school, fortunately everything is in order with exception of a couple of minor details in my newly required "Fire Risk Assessment" document which are easy to put right.

The pictures are of Moss Eccles, which is being drained to enable repair work to the dam.

Yet more contributions to the blog, Brian and Joyce, regulars visitors from the South coast spent Sunday at Watendlath in the northern part of the Lake District.
They had a good long day and returned with some wonderful photos.

These first two are Ashness Bridge

These two are taken from Surprise View

Bill and Jill took these shots yesterday, it was a gloomy day but the pictures turned out ok.
They went to Thirlmere which is a reservoir supplying the City of Manchester's drinking water.

My lap top is still out of action and has gone away for repair, this morning the main computer made some very strange noises and we thought that was going to fail but all seems well at the moment.

It has been a gloomy day and as I write this the rain had arrived, not a great forecast for the weekend.

Bill, Jill and Holly the dog are here this week and have taken the camera with them today, this picture was sent in by Ian and Cate who stayed earlier in the week with Ian's mum, they have met Bill and Jill on a number of previous visits to Buckle Yeat and took this shot off them when they bumped into them in Ambleside.

These pictures were all from yesterday taken by Martin and his wife Chris from the Leeds area, they are frequent visitors to Buckle Yeat and as you can see keen walkers.
They set off up Helvellyn via Striding Edge and so I sent them off with my camera.

A struggling lap top but with a bit of of care and a few elastic bands I have managed to put these pictures of a stunning Esthwaite Water on the blog.

Just as I get someone to look at the computer it seems to be working, a bit like waiting in the dentist waiting room and your tooth stops aching but it's to late you have an appointment.

A bit of action in the village this morning, some people staying in the holiday cottage across demolished a section of dry stone wall with a big Volvo, oops!

Esthwaite Water, it seems to have a green haze on it.

The notice says it all. More pictures when it has drained.

Our blog walkers from the weekend sent us these two shots, the first is taken on Hard Knott Pass and the second is Benita and Mr Mcgregor.

A late night last night, one our lady guests took ill overnight and it was well after midnight when the ambulance arrived and took her to Furness General Hospital, thankfully all was sorted and they allowed her out after some treatment today and she will have to attend her own hospital tomorrow on her return home, we wish her well.

A misty morning in Post Office Meadow this morning.

We sent the blog out today with guest Liz along with mum and dad Ben & Benita, they were going to Wastwater.

These pictures are on the way back over Ulpha fell.
