Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Pictures taken from same place this morning as yesterday but a totally different view, that's the magic of the Lake District.
The village seems busier than Easter week although I think there are more children off school now than the Easter week proper.

well a Man U/Liverpool champs league final is now on the cards,but Moscow is along way to have to travel just for another thumping.I read your blog fairly regualy as Iam from that area as sometimes I pick up news of people I used to know.I now live in Dorset where Ive been for 24 yrs.I will send you another message after the final hopefully celebrating a Man U victory.
