Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

A mixed bag of weather today, it all ended with sunshine but we had one or two massive showers this afternoon.
We had a visit in the tearooms from some regular blog watchers, they have stayed in numerous holiday cottages in the area for many many years, I think they head home tomorrow, so happy birthday and hello Beckenham.
We had a last minute cancellation for next week so if you fancy a last minute break in the sunny!! lakes this week just pick up the phone quote the magic word BLOG and get a 10% discount.
Tarn Hill playground looking pristine after having the grass cut.
Moss Eccles this evening, we had a quick walk before tea.
We had a visit from Robert and Louise tonight gathering sponsers for their respective mothers Rachael and Jayne who are taking part in the Kendal Starwalk tonight raising money for CancerCare, a link is on the right of the page.
