Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Its been a grey couple off days hence the lack of photos, I was going to take a picture of the massive pork pie Rob and Pat from Leicester brought as a gift for us but we ate most of before I had the idea, it was and is delicious mmmmmmm
