Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

St Valentines day today, we are not into cards and roses etc, we did have a nice walk up to Moss Eccles and back down into the TBA for a pint before going home to seared tuna steaks and salsa before settling down in front of the fire and telly.
