Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

Blogger has been out of action for a day or two but is back online today, it has turned a lot cooler and plenty of heavy showers.
We took these few pictures the other day on the old favourite walk up to the tarns.
