Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey.
The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village.
Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

A calm cool morning, no sun as yet but we live in hope. Our jockey customers are in fine form this morning, but not suprisingly they are not big eaters, old habits die hard.
We took this picture up at Moss Eccles last night, it was dead calm with not a ripple on the tarn.
