Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

A really quite day considering it was Easter Sunday, the hordes never arrived as anticipated.
The only time we looked like getting busy was as the Blackburn v Liverpool game started, a good win for the reds albeit with a contentious goal from Robbie Fowler.
A bit cooler than yesterday but it kept dry, we had a walk through Bishop wood and past St Peters church and back into Near Sawrey and just as we got back into the village we had an odd spot of rain but it soon passed.
We spoke to Matthew and Sarah on the internet this evening, they both seem well and are preparing to move on after a few days in Cusco, the are headed towards Bolivia, and should be there in a couple of days.
