Buckle Yeat is situated in the village of Near Sawrey. The name Buckle Yeat is over 300 years old and it means fasten the gate.In years gone by the gate referred to would be the gate to the village. Near Sawrey was once home to the children's writer Beatrix Potter about whom the movie Miss Potter is all about. Hill Top Farm where she wrote many of her stories is a museum and is open to the public.

A couple of sunrise shots taken this morning.
Derek & Vicky turned up early this morning for breakfast and were surprised to find Jan & Jeff, a couple who they have met at Buckle Yeat and have become good friends with. Jan & Jeff have not been with us for 18 months due to a house move, they had kept this visit a secret from Derek & Vicky as a surprise.
It has been a decent day on the weather front but at 4pm the rains arrived and it has gone a bit cooler.
A new addition to the blog you can now check availability at Buckle Yeat by clicking the link in the side bar, very clever!
Mr McGregor is safely ensconced at the Hill Top shop as the picture shows, I am not sure how Tiger Woods and Peter Rabbit are on the same display, see bottom left in picture.
Football later England v Macedonia, I wonder how many goals the legend that is Peter Crouch will score as he heads towards Bobby Charltons record.
